Grandma Tubbs

We lost our dear grandma Tubbs Thursday afternoon after a sudden illness. It happened so fast that I don't think its set in quite yet for any of us. We know that as much as we miss her she is in a better place doing great things. Grandma loves her family very much and she would do anything for any of us. Family was very important to her, which is good because she has a big one. I'm not sure how many grandchildren there are but I do know that there are 52 1/2 (ours in progress) great grandchildren and she knows and loves every single one. She and grandpa were always supportive by attending all sorts of sporting events, dance and music recitals, birthdays, or just coming over to visit. Grandma Tubbs was always so willing to watch Kallon. Kallon could spot grandma and grandpa great from a mile away in Walmart, where we frequently ran into them. He would just start shouting grandma great, go see grandma great! She actually took him for a weekend while Cory and I went to Las Vegas for a tennis tournament. Grandma and Kallon have a special bond. They were always so excited to see each other and Kallon is always asking to see grandma great. He loved going over to visit and play with toys and grandma great would let him play with the vcr, which he never gets to do at home! The first time I met her which was about 10 years ago when Cory and I started hanging out I remember her making me feel so welcome even though Cory and I weren't supposed to be seriously dating!:)
She is always so kind to everyone and I don't think I've ever heard her say a bad thing about anyone. She and grandpa had fun together throughout their lives. They would go dancing every week, go camping with a group, and even go on motorcycle rides together in the mountains. I hope that Cory and I can stay young like she and grandpa have. What great examples we have to follow and live up to. We love you grandma, and we will see you again!

I heard about this yesterday while out with my in-laws yesterday, Cory's mom got a call and it was her mom informing her (and us) that Robbie lost her mom-that is so sad! Especially when it is so sudden. I know there was a big party planned, and I'm sorry that it didn't turn out as planned, obviously. Sammi lost her great grandma almost 18 months ago, it's a tough thing, and she made me feel the same way as Grandma Tubbs made you feel-welcome and like you just automatically belong. I remember feeling like I couldn't remember a time when she WASN'T my grandma. Please let us know if there is anything we can do!! Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I know I didn't know your grandma but she sounded wonderful and I know that its hard to lose someone you're close to. You have such a good attitude about your loss - it's to be admired. We hope you can find some comfort and peace in this hard time.

To answer your question about potty training, it went really well. 2 days of "house arrest" was enough to do the trick! She has trouble with bowel movements, but accidents have been few and far between and no #1 accidents since day 4. On my blog, click on "write to me!" and you'll get my email, then I can send you some of the information I found most helpful in potty training.
