Nothing new has been going on lately. We are still working on potty training with Kallon. He goes potty really well in the toilet but he can't figure out that he needs to poop in the potty. Sunday morning we were laying in bed and I realized it had been quiet for way too long. Cory and got up and walked into the front room and guess what we saw....poop! All over the floor like a little puppy had paid us a visit and to make it even worse Kallon waked in it and made a trail around the room........GROSS! Today he decided he wanted to poop outside on the balcony. Instead of a toddler we now have a dog! I don't know if he doesn't recognize when he needs to go or what. Hopefully he will get the hang of it very, very soon, before I go insane. My mom came for a visit the end of January. I had a lot of fun and I am very glad she came. We did a lot of shopping and eating. We went to many of the malls around town, visited the River Walk, and went to San Marcos to the huge outlet malls. It was fun having her here for a visit. I hope that my dad and brother will make it here soon(hint, hint). :) Kate had some pictures taken of her by a friend in our ward. I am really excited to see them. I have seen one and it is so cute. I can't believe how fast Kate is growing. About three weeks ago she weighed 10 1/2 pounds, and she is already to long to really lay on my lap. They are not supposed to grow that fast. She is getting really strong too, she can hold her head up for a few minutes and also she likes to stand. She has started smiling and cooing, it's so cute I love this stage. Of course she will stop smiling when I pull out the camera!
On a more serious note we found out today that a friend from home was killed in a car accident last night. Cory and I went to high school with him and his wife. Cory's family are close friends with her's. He has left behind his wife and two beautiful little girls. It breaks my heart to think of these girls and how hard it must be to have lost their daddy at such a young age. It just goes to show that you don't know what life has in store for you. We really need to strive everyday to live like today is our last. This just hit too close to home for me and I have been thinking about it all day long. I have put myself in this situation and I just don't know what I would do. I know I would want to crawl into a hole and never come out. Life would be so different. I want the family to know that we love you guys and you are in our thoughts and prayers. I am so grateful for the gospel knowing that we can be with our loved ones again. It would be so hard to go through life thinking that when we die that's it. I am grateful for my parents and their example to live the gospel. I have seen the blessing it brings in my life and I am so grateful for it. My goal is to tell my family that I love them everyday because you just never know what will happen. Somedays are very hard with Kallon and there are times I just want to strangle him but we need to grateful for everyday we have with our loved ones. I am going to try and be better with Kallon and not sweat the small things, I really need to work on being more patient with him. Anyways I have had my eyes opened and I am going to work on enjoying every moment I am given with my family. I love you guys!

Kate really is beautiful. I love how your friend worked with the photo bring her out - she did a good job - I wish I knew how to do that. Oh I think this potty training business will be the end of us. Cash keeps going in spurts which is frustrating although, I haven't had the joy of finding poop on my floor yet. :) Well said at the end of your blog. It is important to remember what is most important in our lives and not take them for granted.
